UPSC Civil Services Exam Vacancies

The number of vacancies to be filled through the examination for the UPSC Civil Services Examination is expected to be approximately 712 which include 22 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category:

  • 5 vacancies for candidates of (a) blindness and low vision
  • 6 Vacancies for (b) deaf and hard of hearing
  • 6 Vacancies for (c) locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy
  • 5 Vacancies for (e) multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (c) including deaf-blindness.

However, the final number of vacancies may change. Reservation will be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the Economically Weaker Sections and Persons with Benchmark Disability in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government.

UPSC Civil Services Exam Cut-Offs from 2015 to 2019

How to Check for the UPSC Civil Services Exam Results

The UPSC result will be released for the Civil Services Prelims and Main Exam. Aspirants who have appeared for the exam can check their written by following the below steps-

  • Candidates should visit the website of UPSC Civil Services Exam – www.upsc.gov.in.
  • Then scroll down and click on the ”Written Result.”
  • Find the result link. 
  • Search for the written result using the roll number.
  • You can download the result and take a printout for future reference.

How are UPSC Civil Services Examination Cut-Off Scores Prepared? 

The Commission will announce the Civil Services Exam cut off score after the declaration of the final results, i.e., interview. It will prepare the cut-off score based on the various factors such as the no. of candidates, the total number of vacancies, and other details. Aspirants should note that the UPSC Prelims cut-off is the minimum mark one should get to attain the eligibility to appear for the Mains exam.

Note- The UPSC CSE will release the cut-off score after Civil Services personality test. The UPSC cut-off and final result will be released at a time (After analysing all the scores of the shortlisted candidates).

The Commission is likely to conduct the UPSC interviews in July and release the final result in August/September. The UPSC CSE personality tests were postponed due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic.
