The Maharashta Public Service Commission (MPSC) is a state level exam where candidates from the state of Maharashtra can apply. Those who get selected through MPSC are designated as Deputy Collector, DySP, etc. These officers are subordinate to IAS/IPS and get posted within the state of Maharashtra.

It is usually conducted every year by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) to recruit officers into the state administration departments’ different wings under the Maharashtra State Government.

MPSC Exam – How to Apply

The application process for the exams to be conducted in April 2020 is already over. Candidates can also submit applications for other MPSC exams. The MPSC application form filling procedure is similar for all the posts.

  1. Go to the home page of MPSC –
  2. Click “Online Application”, a Registration Page will open.
  3. Click “New user registration”. Note that the page will be in Marathi, you can translate into English using Google Translate.
  4. The Login Page will open. Enter all the requested details like “Username, Mobile, E-mail, DOB, Password, etc.”
  5. Enter the OTP received on mobile and e-mail.
  6. Click “Create User” and your account will be created.
  7. Login using the “User name and Password”
  8. Fill out the complete Application Form and pay the examination fee as per your category.
  9. Download the Application Form and fee receipt.

  1. Read the syllabus very carefully- You should know the syllabus of the exam you are preparing. While the Prelims syllabus for every MPSC exam is similar, Every Exam has a different syllabus for Mains Exams. PSI Mains has stressed on Human Rights, Acts, etc. while STI Mains on Indian Economy and so on.

  2. Go through all the Previous Year Question Papers- Candidates can get a good idea of questions being asked in MPSC Exams by analyzing Previous Year Question Papers. Aspirants may also benefit if some questions are repeated.
  3. Start from the necessary books- When you understand the syllabus and analyze Previous Year Question Papers, move on to actual preparation. It would be best to start from the basic books like – NCERT & the State Board Books. Candidates will get conceptual clarity from these kinds of books. Also, some questions are directly asked from these books very often.
  4. Current Affairs- Prepare current affairs regularly, as it is a significant part of the syllabus. Read newspapers regularly. Try to make current affairs notes yourself. Loksatta, Mata, Sakal are considered a good source for MPSC Exams.
