Maharashtra Public Service Commission – Eligibility Criteria

MPSC Exam – Age Limit
The MPSC age limit for the State Service Exam is:
- Minimum age (as on April 1, 2021): 19 years
- Maximum age (as on April 1, 2021): 38 years (General Category)
- As per the rules governing the examination’s conduct, there are different relaxations in age criteria as per the category.
MPSC age limits for backward classes, ex-servicemen, qualified players, and persons with disabilities are mentioned below:

MPSC – Educational Qualification
The educational criteria for MPSC 2021 exams are:
- Competency in Marathi
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.
- There is no limit on the number of attempts, and candidates in their last year of college are also eligible for the MPSC exam.
As the MPSC exams cover a broad range of posts and services, there are post specific eligibility criteria (educational qualification and physical fitness).
The MPSC eligibility given in the official notification for the State Service Exam 2021 (Prelims) provides some post-specific criteria.
- The applicant needs to be a citizen of India.
- To get the reservation benefits, the candidate must have the permanent domicile in the state of Maharashtra.
- Candidates must have completed their graduation from a recognized institute.
- The age of the candidates must be between 19 years and 33 years.
- The candidates of the reserved category will get the appropriate relaxation in the upper age.
- The relaxation in the upper age will be of 3 years for the OBC category.
- The maximum age limit for the candidate’s PwD category will be 45 years.
- The candidates of the SC and ST category will get a relaxation of 5 years.

MPSC Exam – How to Apply
The application process for the exams to be conducted in April 2020 is already over. Candidates can also submit applications for other MPSC exams. The MPSC application form filling procedure is similar for all the posts.
- Go to the home page of MPSC – mpsc.gov.in.
- Click “Online Application”, a Registration Page will open.
- Click “New user registration”. Note that the page will be in Marathi, you can translate into English using Google Translate.
- The Login Page will open. Enter all the requested details like “Username, Mobile, E-mail, DOB, Password, etc.”
- Enter the OTP received on mobile and e-mail.
- Click “Create User” and your account will be created.
- Login using the “User name and Password”
- Fill out the complete Application Form and pay the examination fee as per your category.
- Download the Application Form and fee receipt.

Maharashtra PSC Exams – Selection Procedure
The selection for an MPSC post is made through three stages:
- 1st Stage: Prelims Exam
- 2nd Stage: Mains Exam
- 3rd Stage: Interview
Candidates successfully clearing all three rounds are called for document verification. Once the verification process is complete, the selected candidates are posted at one of the offices/branches.
